About the We Are All One Indigenous Reversible Blanket

This gorgeous Indigenous blanket is made from sustainable fabric. It’s perfect for family picnics, camping, getting cozy around the campfire and is made large enough for a queen size bed or a throw blanket. The warm and luxurious wool blend makes them soft, yet washable. The trim adds a beautiful finish.

ABOUT THE DESIGN

We are all connected, we are all together, we are all one.

''This blanket is called We are All One. I wanted it to embrace connection and belonging. It doesn’t matter if you’re Syilx, Cree, Inuit or Metis or where you come from we are all connected - We are All One.  The deer holds importance in the Syilx teachings.   The captikw stories teach us that deer gave his life for the two legged. This blanket will honour his gift of sacrificing himself and it is also a symbol to look after yourself and others.

When I was on tour with Bones Of Crows I was gifted a drum.  The drum was different than our drums, it was bigger and deeper. But it held the same significance for our people. It was through this gift that I realized how despite our differences we are all connected.'' - Summer Testawich

The pictographs in the design all have a deep connection to me, and they also represent a teaching  of connection and belonging.

About the artist Summer Testawich

WOVEN

In collaboration with Soaring Circle, the brand WOVEN was created in 2023.  WOVEN aims to provide opportunities for Indigenous youth all across Canada to be inspired by design and entrepreneurship.  This design contest was the first of its kind and inspired youth to create a drawing that would possibly be woven into a blanket.  This collaboration and initiative provides the opportunity for the youth to see the potential in their talents. Summer Testawich from Syilx Territory in Snpinktn, B.C had the winning design called We are All One..

Summer Testawich is an award-winning Canadian actress of Cree and Latin American heritage, raised on the traditional Syilx Territory in Snpinktn, B.C. When not acting, Summer has a passion for horseback riding, aerial hoop, softball and lacrosse.  She loves spending time with her friends and family geocaching or exploring her Community. She made her acting debut as young Aline in the feature film Bones of Crows (CBC/APTN/SRC). Through this project, Summer spent many months traveling to show this important film to our communities and spending time with the elders. It is here that her art was most influenced.  At a young age, Summer has learned and understands the importance of the interconnectedness of all peoples.  Summer participated in the WOVEN contest through her school and was the successful candidate to have her design woven into a blanket.
